Rob Wilson
Launching Connected Search Group in October 2023, Rob Wilson brings over two decades of experience in the search industry.
As a seasoned executive, Rob has a proven track record of hiring and developing specialist recruitment professionals, transforming them into industry leaders in niche vertical markets. His career passions include client acquisition and retention, value creation, effective communication, behaviour role-modelling, team development, relationship cultivation, and fostering collaboration and partnership.
Previously, Rob served as the Managing Director of a leading global Medical Technology consultancy business. Outside of work, Rob prioritises his family, enjoys golf and cricket, and aspires to drive Connected into a market-leading position across its core vertical markets.
Matt Civil
Founding Connected Search Group in October 2023 with Rob, Matt brings a wealth of experience in recruitment with a diverse candidate and client network that spans regionally, nationally, and internationally. Matt has built a reputation as a trusted partner for businesses seeking Accountancy & Finance talent, consistently placing candidates in roles at all levels including graduates, part qualified, qualified and C-Suite professionals.
In his previous employer, Matt progressed quickly, with 3 promotions in as many years resulting in him becoming a Business Manager, before setting up his own successful recruitment business in early 2022, recruiting across multiple sectors. With a deep understanding of the Accountancy & Finance sector and a substantial regional network, Matt is dedicated to delivering excellence for clients and candidates alike. He is passionate about client acquisition, relationship building, team development, and cultivating a high-performing culture within the business.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and staying fit.
Joe Robinson
Joe Robinson has spent five years in the industry as a specialist, niche-market recruiter supporting his clients by identifying hard-to-find talent. He has assembled IT project teams to implement finance systems and now partners with Accountancy Practices across South Yorkshire to provide first-class talent solutions.
In the time Joe has been with the business, he has already built up a significant network of accountancy practice professionals across the region. Joe’s knowledge of his market means he is able to confidentially and exclusively represent both active and passive talent to the Yorkshire Accountancy Practice market.
Joe is an avid sports fan and enjoys playing golf and cooking in his spare time. His aspirations include achieving a sub-10 golf handicap, travelling more, and learning Spanish.
Alex Donnelly
Alex Donnelly brings years of experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, and Technical recruitment to Connected. Alex transitioned from a leadership career in Production and Manufacturing with Gripple into the recruitment industry, seeking a new challenge but remaining focused on his specialist area of experience. Since joining Connected, Alex has placed multiple candidates at mid to senior level, whilst also leveraging his deep technical knowledge to provide consultative advice to clients and candidates alike.
He specialises in working with manufacturing companies in renewable energy, rail, kinetic engineering, construction and power storage industries.
Alex is a keen golfer and enjoys travelling and socialising with friends. He aspires to grow with Connected and to help develop the engineering and technical division.
Lewis Carr
Lewis brings a competitive edge and a unique perspective to executive search, shaped by years of experience in professional sport and recruitment. He transitioned from a career in Football into executive search, driven by a passion for business growth and a talent for spotting high-performance potential in people and teams.
Since joining the industry, Lewis has successfully placed candidates across Tech, Sales, Marketing, Corporate, and Operations roles, partnering with global clients in the Medical Device, Health Tech, Sports, and Technology sectors. His approach is built on transparency, strategic thinking, and a strong belief in setting realistic expectations for both clients and candidates.
Lewis also draws on extensive coaching and mentoring experience, helping businesses and individuals grow, whether in fast-paced start-ups or established corporate environments.
Outside of work, Lewis continues to play semi-professional football and enjoys spending time with his family. He is passionate about building long-term partnerships and supporting the growth of Connected’s presence in the Medtech and Health innovation space.
